Reissue of the band's self-released "The Suicide Note" 2009 EP, with four previously unreleased versions of songs from "The Plague" with original vocalist Martin Qvist.
Hailing from Falkenberg Sweden, which is only 100 kilometers from Gothenburg, ABLAZE MY SORROW is in fact one of the longer running melodic death bands from Sweden starting back in 1993. It will hardly surprise that similarities to DARK TRANQUILITY, EUCHARIST, GATES OF ISHTAR, and IN FLAMES are weaved within the releases and sound of ABLAZE MY SORROW. Often overlooked yet treading away in the trenches of the underground just as long as their fellow countrymen. "The Suicide Note" incorporates some modern features into the now classic Gothenburg sound, while maintaining an underground feel and approach. I think this is why we like this band so much here at the DHR compound, they are melodic yet have an organic and raw feel to their music.
